Extinct Decor Trends From 2018

Now is the time for us to reflect on the trends that will be left behind in 2018...

Lets dive right in to these top trends that were once popular but are now on their way out!

1. Fifty Shades of Greys...No I am not talking about the movie series, let's be real here that series will always be H.O.T! I am talking about the multiple levels of greys that have been popular for the better half of 2018.

2. Flat, No Dimension Rooms... What I mean by this is, the room trends that have no sense of humor, you know the ones I am talking about, the dry, sterile, no characteristic, blase rooms. These rooms have no pop of color anywhere, no textures or layers, just one boring color over and over and over again. 2019 will be the year of boisterous, rebellious designs that bring an over the top personality.

3. Copper Furniture...believe it or not this trend is on its way out. It made its debut when Millennial Pink was IT, but it was short lived. Bye Bye Copper!

4. Brass...Brass accentuated furniture is also out, those old style beds with brass posts are definitely hitting the road. Ever watch the Disney Movie "Bedknobs & Broomsticks" that brassy bed with the cylinder bed post toppers, that's the style I am referring too. All though Four Post Beds are the hottest trend entering into the 2019 year for bedroom furniture.

5. Cherry Cabinets...Yes this trend has been around for a long time, but as we know all trends must come to an end at some point, and my friends this is the time to say Goodbye to Cherry Wood Cabinets!

Trending Fireplace Makeovers

Get Lit this winter with these Trending Fireplace Makeovers!

Some of the hottest makeover trends for Fireplaces include Tile & Farmhouse Chic!

Thanks to Joanna Gaines and her Shiplap obsession Farmhouse Chic has taken on a whole new look and its popping up everywhere. Almost everyone wants to get in on this home-style trend and what better place to host this amazing look then right in your own living space starting with your FirePlace.

If your not looking to remodel your whole Fireplace, starting with the mantel could make a huge impact. Exposing the natural wood and adding some vintage decor could really make all the difference for a fraction of the cost. Using tall wood candle sticks and old milk crates at the floor level will tie this look all together.

The next style that is taking the world by storm besides the Farmhouse Chic, would be Tile! This trend may cost more than say the FarmHouse look, since your most likely replacing brick or stone that is currently there. Butttt this look is absolutely breathe taking if done right. You can go bold or subtle. Which ever way you choose to go your still going to make a huge statement with this trend.

Which trend is more your style?

Would love to hear your thoughts!
